1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups quick oats, uncooked
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Cream butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer untils mooth. Stir in oats, mixing thoroughly. Press firmly in greased 8-inch or 9-inch square cake pan.

Bake at 350 F for 25 to 30 minutes, or until light golden, and centre is barely firm. Cool 5 minutes.

Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top. Drop small spoonfuls of peanut butter over chips. Let stand 5 minutes to soften. Swirl chocolate and peanut butter together to marble. Cool completely, then chill 15 minutes to set topping before cutting.

TIP: Swirt topping very gently for a more attractive appearance. If you overmix, it will still taste great.
