Cinnamon Apple Crisp

1 tb Red cinnamon candies
1 c Boiling water
6 md Apples, peeled, cored and -thinly sliced
1 pk Moist Deluxe White Cake Mix
1 c Light brown sugar,firmly -packed
1/2 c Butter or margarine, melted
Frozen whipped topping(thaw)
Crushed red cinnamon candies
Mint leaves, for garnish

Preheat oven to 350F.

Dissolve 1 tablespoon cinnamon candies in boiling water. Arrange apple slices in ungreased 13x9x2" pan. Pour cinnamon flavored water over top. Combine recipe cake mix, brown sugar and melted butter in large bowl. Stir until thoroughly blended. ( Mixture will be crumbly.) Sprinkle crumbs over apple slices.

Bake at 350 F for 50-55 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly. Serve with whipped topping, crushed cinnamon candies and mint leaves, if desired.

TIP:You can substitute 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for the 1 tablespoon red cinnamon candies. stir into cake mix.
