Cinnamon Flats

Cinnamon Flats

2 sticks butter, softened (1/2 lb or 16 Tablespoons)
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk (save white)
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

11x17 cookie sheet with sides
325 degree oven

Cream butter, sugar; beat in yolk & vanilla. Beat in dry ingredients. Press dough in pan (may line pan with foil). Brush with egg white. Sprinkle with nuts and press in. Bake 35 minutes. Remove and immediately cut in squares, diamonds, or rectangles. Gets crisp quickly! Cool.

2 sticks of butter, is that about a 1/4 each…i buy by the lb

Thank you swtness, i should of put that down i usually buy it that way also .but it is 1/2 lb of butter or 16 tablespoons. I will go edit it.
