Add milk and bring to 170 degrees F.

In bowl blend melted margarine and flour till smooth then add 1 quart of soup broth and blend. Using wire whip add back to pot and blend well. Simmer 20 minutes.

If you’re like me - make it yourself -

1/4 cup sea salt
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika or 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika or 1/4 teaspoon hot paprika
1/4 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon marjoram
1/4 teaspoon parsley
2 teaspoons lemon zest or 2 teaspoons orange zest or 2 teaspoons lime zest

Blend all ingredients in your food blender or coffee grinder.

Blend until it is a fine powder.

That sounds like a pretty decent potato soup recipe. I love potato and ham soup, and had it several times this winter. I personally would probably take this recipe and add cubed ham. I like to make spices and seasoning, so the Jane’s Crazy salt sounds like something I’d make too.

Thank you for the Cracker Barrel reipes. I have used them all!!!

Thanks for the soup recipe!
But even GREATER thanks for the spice mix recipe (I copied it separately!)
I just adore great seasoning when I’m cooking.

Take care,

Homemade salt???

I see, so you are talking about homemade SEASONED salt, not homemade salt, per se.

You could collect water from the ocean and let it evaporate leaving the salt.
