Any sure-fire way to keep cheesecake from cracking in the oven? I have tried the water pan with no success. Even with the cracks they are still good, but the presentation is not so good. Thanks!JJ
Cheesecake will crack just from over beating the cream cheese. Water bath is a good idea but won’t eliminate the cracks. You’re right, all cheese cakes still taste great!
Cracks in a cheese cake never bother me. I usually get one in the middle. That’s where I make my first cut, so no one ever sees it. A tip for cutting cheese care. Use a piece of very fine plastic fishing line. Cut straight down and pull the line sideways, not back up again.
I know presentation is really important but a good presentation with a bad taste wow! that was bad. So? if you want a good presentation put some toppings like kitchen witch says. But don’t forget the taste!
Definitely agree…taste is more important than cracks in a cheesecake. Besides, once cut, the presentation has already changed…just hand me a fork, I’m not fussy.
