Cream of Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Soup

Makes 4 cups

1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped lettuce (iceberg, romaine, leaf or any combination)
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup diced, cooked bacon
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 cup heavy whipped cream
2 teaspoons sherry wine
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

In large saucepan or stockpot, combine broth with lettuce, diced tomatoes, bacon, onions, and celery.
Blend together and bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream, sherry, sugar and salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer, stirring, until cream content thickens soup to desired consistency.
