Creamed Chipped Beef

Creamed Chipped Beef

I prepare night before and store in slow cooker and reheat and serve from it.

6 Tbsps butter
6 Tbsps flour
Fresh ground pepper
3 cups milk
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
12 oz chipped beef (boil in water and drain this will remove most salt) before adding
1 cup sliced mushrooms
6 hardboiled eggs, optional
1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Extra Evaporated Milk add after cooking in morning plus Corn Starch to thicken if needed

Melt butter in saucepan add flour and pepper. Stir and cook 1-2 minutes. Slowly add milk and cook. Stirring constantly until well thickened. Add Worcestershire sauce, cheese, and wine. Stir and cook until fairly thick and just beginning to boil. Add beef, mushrooms and eggs and heat until hot through out. DO NOT BOIL. Serve hot over waffles, muffins, or biscuits.

is chipped beef like corned beef?

Hi Swtness,
Thinly sliced beef that has been smoked, salt cured, and then cut into round or rectangular slices. It is most often served as either an appetizer to complement crackers and baked goods, or as a meat ingredient for beef and gravy dishes, such as chipped beef and gravy. This product is also referred to as dried beef. Hormel sells it or at least thats the brand i buy. Good luck  skyEyz_7
