creamed crab with fettuccine

3 cups half and half cream
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup minced green onion
2 cups freshly cooked crabmeat
1 pound fettuccine, freshly cooked and drained
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 small fresh artichokes, trimmed, steamed and quartered
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
