Crock Pot Chicken Gumbo

1 Fryer cut up
2 ribs celery
1 bay leaf
1 can Campbell’s chicken gumbo soup
1 small onion, diced
1 small red bell pepper
1 teaspoon gumbo file
1/2 cup rice
3/4 to 1 cup water

First put layer of onion, celery and bell pepper in crock pot. Add chicken and bay leaf. Next add rice, soup and file. Cook on low six to 8 hours or high 2-1/2 to four hours. If it gets to dry, add a little water.

This is a good recipe for a winter,s night just found in a file folder and it is an old recipe I would put it about 1954. I use to make it but then I just put it up so that I wouldn’t lose it well I did this was before computers to store it on Cd’s.
