Death By Chocolate Trifle

21 oz. box brownie mix, baked according to directions and cooled
1/4 cup coffee liquer (can substitute 1/4 c. strong coffee and 1 tsp.
sugar)
2 4-serving boxes instant chocolate fudge pudding prepared according to
pkg directions
1 12 ounce container Cool whip, thawed
8 1.4 ounce chocolate covered toffee candy bars, coarsley crushed

  1. Use a fork to prick holes in the top of the cooled brownies. Drizzle
    with the liquer.

  2. Break up the brownies into small pieces and place half in the bottom
    of the trifle dish or other large glass serving bowl. Cover with half
    of the pudding, 1/3 of the crushed candy and half of the Cool Whip.
    Repeat the layers, then top with the remaining crushed candy.

  3. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
