I recently put together a BBQ sauce at home that got good reviews from the family. It goes well with poultry and sausages.
24oz ketchup
1/2 cup distilled vinegar
1/2 cup molasses
3/4 cup honey
1 TBS granulated garlic
1 TBS granulated onion
2 tsp ground black pepper
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp habenero hot sauce
2 small drops of orange extract
Simmered very slowly for 2 hrs, added the orange extract just before I took it off the heat.
Nice flavor, a bit of spice and heat with a fruity/orange finish.
If you like it hot make a firey marinade out of cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, cumin seeds, ginger and a little olive oil. Mix up and smother over what ever you are cooking on the BBQ!
I am going to try this as well though it is not mentioned in a good explanatory way, I would like to find a way about this because I love to make this, but till now I have not been successful in this. I am sure I will be successful coming Sunday.
