-Garlic Bread Fantastique
A zippy change to the usual garlic bread that will surely be your favorite ever !

1/2 cup butter, softened
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1/4 tsp sage
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 French baguette, halved lengthwise
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese*, or to taste
Low Down: even though it’s a little thing, use a Lite or diet version of the mayo, and one of the new butter substitutes that maintain the flavor but eliminate the trans fats, etc.
Preheat oven to broil.
In a medium bowl combine butter, mayonnaise, sage, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.
Spread mixture evenly on bread and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Place bread under broil for 5 min, or until lightly toasted.

Variation: * Consider replacing the Paramesan Cheese with a finely grated bit of YOUR OWN favorite cheese…or just one you want to ‘experiment’ with; things like jalepeno (for a ‘kick’), colby, longhorn, the ever popular cheddar, etc.
Also don’t forget the “levels” of the cheese flavors from mild to extra sharp.
