Gingersnap Bars

3/4 c butter
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
4 tsp sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 15x10" jelly roll pan.

In a large saucepan melt butter. Cool melted butter for approx 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients expect 4 tsp sugar; mix well.
Press into the bottom of prepared pan. Bake @ 375 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes or until top is lightly brown. Spinkle remaining sugar on top while cooling. Let stand for 10 minutes; cut into bars.
