This is another old family recipe. It is surprising for it’s lack of “flavorings”, but the banana really shines through.
Gramma’s Banana Bread
1/3 cup sweet butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs - well beaten
3 Tbsp milk
3 bananas (1 cup) mashed
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 cup pecans
Cream butter and sugar. Add in the eggs, milk, and bananas. Mix well. Combine baking soda, Baking Powder, salt and flour. Add into the wet ingredients and stir until just moistened. Stir in the pecans. Grease and flour a 9 inch loaf pan. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
