Green Beans/Veletta Cheese Sauce H.J.’s

Green Beans/Veletta Cheese Sauce H.J.’s

Fresh Green Beans or 1 can of French style green beans drained
1 medium yellow onion chopped
water
¼ of a block of Veletta cheese cubed
Pinch of Sweet Basil herb
½ tsp… garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup milk
1 T. of butter

Use fresh green beans … take the stems off…wash and rinse well…than snap them or I used to french style cut them…or can use 1 can of beans…drained

Put into a pot
add: 1 medium yellow onion …skinned and chop …
in the pot add enough water to cover… cook till just el dante …

Drain off the water… leaving onions and beans in the pot. (might have a little water but thats okay; cause it will absorb when beans and onions returned to the heat)

Return the Green Beans and onions in the pot to the heat… over medium heat

Add the ingredients below all together:
Veletta Cheese…cubed…about 1/4 of the block
Add 1/2 c. milk maybe more if needed after you see the consistency of the sauce should be like a medium thin to thick sauce when finished
Add: 1 Tabl. butter, Garlic granular (about 1/2 tsp.) or a little more
Dash of Sweet Basil…a “very light” sprinkle all over the top (do not over power with basil )
add Black pepper and salt to your liking for the perfect taste

Stir well and often… letting everything all melt together over low heat now for about 10 to 15 minutes…

Serve hot or you can make this ahead of time and reheat but must make sure that the sauce doesn’t get to thick… if it does add little more milk.

I created this when I was 18 yrs old. 44 yrs. ago H.J.
