Grilled Hamburgers Deluxe

1 Tbsp butter
1½ teaspoons olive oil
1 medium onion, minced
1 lb extra lean ground beef
3 drops of hot sauce
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
½ tsp freshly ground pepper
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
2/3 cup soft breadcrumbs

Melt butter with olive oil in a small frying pan. Add onion and sauté until golden.

Combine ground beef, onion, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix well. Add the egg yolks and breadcrumbs, mixing until well combined.

Shape the meat into 4 patties, 3 inches in diameter and about ½ inch thick. Place patties on a grill rack about 4 inches above the hot coals (or under a preheated broiler). Sear the meat quickly on both sides. Raise the grill rack to 6 to 8 inches above the coals and cook for 5 minutes on each side. Serve with barbecue sauce.

This is very similar to one I make:) . Only difference is I add one crumbled beef bullion cube and a tbls of red wine or lager beer.

These are indeed very good!

Forgot to mention that I also use 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, minced (depends on the size of the garlic). Sometimes I even add a couple squirts of BBQ sauce.
