Hamburger Corn Pone Pie

Use a Jiffy mix or your own favorite cornbread batter to top this hamburger pie recipe.

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup tomatoes
1 cup drained kidney beans
1 cup corn bread batter

In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion in the oil; add seasoning and tomatoes. Cover and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Add kidney beans. Pour meat mixture into a greased 1-quart baking dish. Top with corn bread batter, spreading carefully over meat mixture with a wet knife.

Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.
