Hardboiled egg trick - no peeling

I’m going to tell ya that when I tried this it didn’t make peeling eggs ONE LITTLE BITTY BIT easier! The baking soda made no more difference than when I boil them in plain water. Why are egg peels so hard to get off these days…didn’t used to be like that! I used to boil them and peel them with no problems. NOW the peel like hangs on for dear life and tears the whole egg up but then the next one peels like a breeze…HA!

I never heard baking soda for a remedy. I have heard of vinegar though. Put a small amount of vinegar in the water and try that. It is also good to not use extremely fresh eggs. Older eggs peel better. I usually use the prick trick. I have a small egg pricker that puts a tiny hole in the shell before putting into the water. This works all the time.

I tried the egg trick & it worked. I boiled them for about 10mins. with the baking soda and then I put them in an ice bath.
When they were cool I peeled a small part off on both ends & blew. The egg just popped out & flew into the sink. You do look stupid doing this especially with egg shells on your face but it works!!!

Well I’m glad it worked for someone but when I tried it, I could not even manage to PEEL the shells off. It was like the shell had fused to the white. UGH! I think it’s the eggs they are selling where I live though. I’ve never had such trouble peeling an egg as I do now that I live in Ohio.

Hi, everyone,
A 98-year-old lady told me how to get eggs to peel and it surprised me that it works so well for fresh eggs: Heat the cooking water to boiling and gently drop the eggs into it and allow it to slowly boil for 12 minutes, remove to an ice bath and the eggs peel easily. I still like to prick the big end of the shell with a pin (there is a little tool for that purpose) to let out the air which prevents the shell from cracking.

He has got tricks . Will surely try this when i boil eggs .

Im not going to his house or restaraunt for anything with Hard Boiled Egg in it!

Its bad enough when someone does not wash their hands between things like raw poultry or some slimey thing, but to put your mouth on the end of the egg and blow your terrible breath all over something others are going to eat? Bad Form there Bucko!

I crack the egg and roll it between my washed palms and then run fresh tap water over the opening as I again roll the egg and the water gets between the shell and egg and the shell is then easy to remove, unless the eggs are old. Fresh eggs peel easier

Older eggs peel easier than fresher eggs. Maybe that’s what he’s using.

It was really amazing. Wow!
