Holiday CHEER(S) ~ Hot Spiced Wine

With the coming of the season of the “cold & chilly” white “stuff”…not to mentin the EOY (End Of The Year), just thought I’d drop a couple of these on your desk…JIC
(Just In Case) ya find a “need” for 'em !!

~ Hot Spiced Wine ~

(This recipe is from chef Dario Marquez of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Mistral Resturant.)

4 cups red wine (preferably a Burgundy or Pinot Noir)
4 ounces brandy
2 T brown sugar
1 oz. lemon juice
1 cup orange juice
3 to 4 whole cloves
8 to 10 whole peppercorns
5 whole cinnamon sticks

In a four-quart saucepan, combine all ingredients EXCEPT the wine.
Bring to a boil and cook for about 10 min.
Reduce by half.
Lower heat and add the wine.
Simmer for 10 to 15 min.
~ DO NOT boil a second time.~
Strain through a fine sieve.
Serve hot and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
