Homemade Mushroom Jerky Recipe | Vegan and Gluten-Free Snack

Mushroom Jerky

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of mushrooms (such as portobello or shiitake)
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).

  2. Clean and thinly slice the mushrooms, about 1/8 inch thick. You can use a knife or a mandoline slicer.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, liquid smoke, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

  4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the marinade.

  5. Let the mushrooms marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  6. Place the marinated mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave some space between each slice.
