Honey Balsamic Grilled Onions

3 large yellow onions, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
olive oil, for basting
1/2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
3 Tbs. honey, warm
1 1/2 Tbs. soy sauce

  1. On a grill, position a rack about 4 to 6 inches from the heat source
    and preheat to high.

  2. Liberally brush the onions with olive oil, place on the rack and
    grill, turning and basting frequenly, for about 20 minutes or until
    very tender.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together the vinegar, honey, and soy sauce. Just
    before the onions are removed from the barbeque, brush liberally with
    the honey mixture, heat through, and serve immediately.
