How to choose Cast Iron cookware?

Hey Everyone!
I’ve got a great cookware non-stick set from Calphalon. I’ve noticed that on Food Network, the chefs use cast iron pans.
I don’t know if I should get a ribbed griddle, a ribbed pan, or just a flat pan? What are good brands?

Any insight would be most helpful. Thanks!

Thanks so much for your response!
After thinking about it for a while, I know I will definitely want the ribbed type. Now it’s just a matter of a rectangular griddle-looking shape, or a deep pan. What are the pros and cons of each?

Lodge Cast Iron is the best in the World. I do not believe that now a days all cast iron is the same. Lodge is the only cast iron cookware (cast iron not enameled coated cast iron) that is still made in the USA

Go with Lodge. You won’t go wrong.
