Just stumbled on this forum, it looks interesting. I have been collecting recipes since I was a kid, 40+ years now, and am always on the lookout for new things to try. Often I will try a recipe as-is first and then modify it to make it my own.
I am a baker who owns a small bakery in upstate NY. Consequently my favorite things to make are baked goods - especially pies, breads, biscotti and cookies. My husband likes to cook a variety of foods, from stir fry to grilled meats. We make a good culinary pair with our experimentation.
