Italian Super Sandwiches
1 pound lean ground beef
1/3 cup each: finely chopped onion and green pepper
Â½ cup tomato-based chili sauce
Â½ teaspoon Morton Lite SaltÂ® Mixture
Â¼ teaspoon each: dried oregano and thyme leaves
1 long loaf (1 lb.) French bread, cut in half lengthwise
4 ounces fat-free mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
Mix ground beef with onion, green pepper, chili sauce, Morton Lite SaltÂ® Mixture, oregano and thyme. Spread the meat mixture on both halves of the French bread. Place on a large baking sheet and bake, uncovered, in a preheated 400Â° oven for 30 minutes. Arrange mozzarella slices on meat mixture, then return to oven for 2 minutes, or until cheese is barely melted. Cut into 8 slices. Serves 8.
