Jello Cake (many flavors possible!)

My husband just loves this cake, my children do too! I have made it many times with different flavors. The original recipe I had was for the orange creamsickle flavor, but I like to mix it up and play with different flavors.

The original recipe was for a yellow cake mix bake in 13x9 pan as directed. (best to use a pan that you can put a cover on later) Just as it is coming out of the oven, Poke holes into cake, I use a bread knife to make bigger holes. Mix together 1/2 c boiling water with orange jello, then 1/2 cup cold water. Pour over cake. Chill 2 hours.

Then mix 1 vanilla pudding package with 1 1/2 c cold milk. Mix well, then fold in 1 8oz tub of cool whip. You can flavor with orange extract if you like.

I’ve mixed this up and have done strawberry creamsickle and the recent favorite was to use one of those Funfetti cake mixes from Pillsbury, use lemon lime jello and then use Pistachio pudding in place of vanilla. It makes a great cool and refreshing treat!
