Korean Spicy Pork
My favorite Korean dish - spicy pork served over warm steam rice with lettuce on the side to cool down the palate.
Ingredients:
1lb pork, sliced thinly
3 cloves garlic-chopped
1/2 medium onion-chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp sesame seed oil
2 stalks green onion - cut into inch long pieces
salt to taste
Marinade:
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ginger powder
1-2 tbsp chilli powder (adjust according to taste)
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame seed oil
Directions:
- Mix pork slices with marinade ingredients. Marinade for 30-60 minutes.
- Fry onion and garlic in sesame and vegetable oils.
- Add pork into pan.
- Let simmer without a lid until juices have evaporated slightly so as to form a coat around pork but pork is not overcooked.
- Add salt to taste and sliced green onions.
- Alternatively may grill marinaded pork.
- Serve with warm steam rice and lettuce.
