Lemon Buttermilk Pie

Whisk together:

1-1/2 cups cugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
2 whole eggs
2 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
minced zest and juice of 1 lemon
pinch of salt

Pour into 1 (9" unbaked pie shell )

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Bake until filling is Just set, about 40 to 50 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Chill if not serving right away.
Let chilled pie stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Strawberry topping:
1/4 cup hiney
juice of 1 lime
2 pints strawberries, hulled and halved

Heat honey and lime juice until melted. Pour over berries and let stand at least 5 minutes. Just before serving take a slotted spoon and add just enough berries needed for each slice being served and top each serving with whipping cream.

Note: Do not top pie with berries until just before serving because the filling will collapse

Hi All, sorry for all the mistakes in this recipe. It’s 11:00 at night here and i’m falling asleep at the computer. The recipe should read 1-1/2 cups sugar not cugar, lol. Topping should read 1/4 cup honey.
