Linda's Bar-b-que Sauce

Here’s my entry for the bar-b-que contest…first time I’ve ever entered anything, but really wanted to share this one. It took my a couple of dozen tries to “tweek” this recipe to best fit my family’s taste. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we do…

Linda’s Bar-B-Que Sauce

1 quart 3 quarts
2 c. catsup 8 c.
1/2 c. oil 2 c.
2 T. liquid smoke 8 T.
2 T. vinegar 8 T.
1 t. salt 4 t.
1 t. pepper 4 t.
1 t. garlic powder 4 t.
1/4 t. nutmeg 1 t.
1/4 t. cinnamon 1 t.
1 t. paprika 4 t.
1 t. onion salt 4 t.
1/4 c. sugar 1 c.
1/4 c. brown sugar 1 c.
1 t. dry mustard 4 t.
2 T. onion, finely chopped 5 T.

Procedure:
Mix all ingredients together in a large pot. Bring to a boil, and simmer for about 10 minutes. I usually make 9 qts. at a time and water bath it.

Sorry…it doesn’t show any tabs at all…I hope ya’ll can figure out that the first measurments are for 1 qt and the second for 3 qts.

thanks for sharing this… and i’ll try to experiment on this and lessen the sweetness as i would like my sauce “saucey and spicy” this adds to my collection of sauces also… thanks
