Linda's Bar-b-que Sauce

Here’s my entry for the bar-b-que contest…first time I’ve ever entered anything, but really wanted to share this one. It took my a couple of dozen tries to “tweek” this recipe to best fit my family’s taste. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we do…

Linda’s Bar-B-Que Sauce

1 quart 3 quarts
2 c. catsup 8 c.
1/2 c. oil 2 c.
2 T. liquid smoke 8 T.
2 T. vinegar 8 T.
1 t. salt 4 t.
1 t. pepper 4 t.
1 t. garlic powder 4 t.
1/4 t. nutmeg 1 t.
1/4 t. cinnamon 1 t.
1 t. paprika 4 t.
1 t. onion salt 4 t.
1/4 c. sugar 1 c.
1/4 c. brown sugar 1 c.
1 t. dry mustard 4 t.
2 T. onion, finely chopped 5 T.

Mix all ingredients together in a large pot. Bring to a boil, and simmer for about 10 minutes. I usually make 9 qts. at a time and water bath it.
Sorry about the wavy tabs…LOL Shows my computer illiteracy…

Sorry…it doesn’t show any tabs at all…I hope ya’ll can figure out that the first measurments are for 1 qt and the second for 3 qts.

thanks for sharing this… and i’ll try to experiment on this and lessen the sweetness as i would like my sauce “saucey and spicy” this adds to my collection of sauces also… thanks
