making a seafood dish/soup?

when my step dad was around he used to make this delicious crab soup!! we would buy live crabs, oysters, clams, shrimp, and baby octopus. half the time he would buy this big box of chardonnay or maybe it was white zinfandel, but one of those, and pour half of it in the soup inside this really big pot, and that wine just added the most unique delicious flavor!

IF ANYBODY KNEW OF THIS RECIPE AND WHAT IS IT EXACTLY. I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO EAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT FOR SO LONG.
