Maple Pecan Cookies
3/4 cup soft butter or margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup white sugar
Combine butter, brown sugar, syrup, egg and vanilla in mixing bowl. Beat until creamy. Sift together flour, soda and nutmeg; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Add pecans and mix until well-blended. Roll dough into small balls and roll in white sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown
