measurements

Dear Reader,

I just received all the cookingbooks but I am really confused as ther measurements are not really clear to me!!
Here in Holland they do not use “cup of meat” we use gram, kilogram.
The measures that we use ar gram, kilogram, ml or l.
Can you please send me an explenation of these measures that are used in the cookingbooks like cup, pint, quart, peck, etc. they are not the measures that I am familiar with and on the internet it doesn’t really explain the measure either.

Hopefully I will receive an email back as soon as possible as for now I can’t try the recipes
