6 large slices firm- textured bread
12 slices bacon
2 tbsp butter
6 large slices sharp cheddar cheese
6 slices tomato
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Toast the bread. Saute bacon until half cooked, about 5 mins.
Spread toasted bread with butter and place a slice of cheese on each one.
Top with a slice of tomato and 2 slices of bacon
Season with salt and pepper
Place under a hot broiler and cook until cheese has melted and the bacon is crisp. Serve hot
