In a large pot place your ham (1/2 or whole, bone in or boneless) add a large can of pineapple juice, a 2 liter bottle of sprite, a cup of brown sugar (more or less depending on how sweet you like it), and a half a cup of yellow mustard. Stir to combine, bring to a boil, then simmer for at least 2 hours (all day is best).
To change it up a little you could add 1/2 pinapple juice and half orange juice, or you could add some fresh whole orange slices.
This is a no fail recipe that takes away a lot of the saltyness from the ham. It can be used on a very inexpensive ham to add flavor.
