Oreo Ice Cream Bars
1 package Oreo cookies (a 3 row pack )
2 cups powdered sugar
2 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup margarine
3 egg yolks
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites, beaten until stiff
1 cup walnuts
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
Crush cookies and line bottom of a 9x13 pan with 3/4 of the crumbs.
Cook powdered sugar, semi-sweet chocolate, margarine, egg yolks, salt
& vanilla in a double boiler until melted. Let cool.
Fold cooked ingredients into beaten egg whites & spread over crumbs.
Sprinkle in 1 cup walnuts and freeze. Soften 2 quarts vanilla ice
cream and spread on top of the first 2 layers. Use the rest of the
Oreo crumbs and sprinkle over the top of the layers.
Freeze solid. Cut into squares and serve.
