Anyone who has ever been to a Pepe’s Restaurant knows that their Chili Con Queso appetizer is simply terrific. I believe that it comes in a can or frozen then is reheated at the restaurant. I am looking for this recipe so that I can make the dish at home. Can anyone help me find this recipe? Thanks in advance.
I HAVE MADE UP A RECIPE THAT MY HUSBAND SAYS IS VERY CLOSE TO PEPE’S CHILI CON QUESO : THIS MAKES KINDA A BIG BATCH, BUT WHAT I DO IS MAKE THE WHOLE THING, AND THEN I CAN RE-HEAT FOR THE NEXT DAY OR LATER. HERE IS MY SIMPLE AND EASY RECIPE:
1-10.OZ CAN OF LA PREFERIDA-ENCHILADA SAUCE (MILD)
1- 8.OZ CAN OF TOMATOE SAUCE ( ANY BRAND OR EVEN GENERIC)
1-2 TBLSP. OF SALT ( I DO 1 AT A TIME AND SEASON FROM THERE)
1 OR 2 -12.OZ OF QUESADILLA MELTING CHEESE ( I USE LA MAS RICA) CUT INTO SMALL OR MED CHUNKS.
PUT ALL INGREDIENTS IN A FONDUE OR SMALL CROCK POT ON LOW TO MED.
SERVE WITH CHIPS OR LIKE AT PEPE’S YOU CAN SERVE WITH WARMED TORTILLA’S. HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

The above recipe is very close but just wanted to add that the cheese Pepe’s uses is Muenster cheese… I have been told many times by the owner so I’m assuming he knows…
