pre packaged convenience cooking

I notice a lot of recipes, especially from the USA often contain things like,
“one packet of uncle sams bla bla, and one packet of uncle toms whip”
in other words some of the main ingredients are country specific - how are you supposed to be able to make the dish if you dont even know what unlce toms whip is like or what it contains and is that really cooking or just mixing easy mix ingredients?

SORRY DON’T KNOW HOW OR CAN’T MARK BOX WITH QUOTE

Being an American and now living in Ireland, I could not agree more. There are many grocery items that I miss living here that I cannot obtain unless I am sent a CARE PACKAGE or I travel over and bring or ship the desired packaged items. But, I have also found some of the items here have the “same” ingredients but are called or packaged differently: some of the items are made by the same company but have locations here as well as stateside and the NAME is just slightly different.
