Savory Lemon Baste

1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 tsp grated lemon rind
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tsp powdered chicken broth mix
1 tsp dried herbs, (rosemary, oregano, thyme, dill weed), optional

Combine butter and remaining ingredients. Let stand for 1 hour. Use to baste potatoes, zucchinis, vegetable kabobs or shell fish. Makes 3/4 cup. Can be kept in the fridge for a week.
