School Cafeteria Devils Food Pudding
2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
3 c. chocolate, grated
2 c. margarine
1 qt. sugar
1 1/2 c. eggs
1 qt. milk
1 1/2 T. vanilla extract
2 qts. pastry flour
2 t. salt
4 t. baking soda
1/4 c. cold water
Cook sugar, milk,and chocolate together until thick, cool thoroughly. Cream
margarine and sugar well. Beat eggs,until lemon color and add to sugar mixture.
Beat thoroughly, add cooled chocolate mixture and blend well.
Sift flour and salt, add alternately with milk (ending with flour). Mix soda and cold
water, add last and mix well. Pour batter into well greased pans and bake at
250°F. for 1 1/2 hours. Serve hot with whipped cream.
