Snickerdoodles

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1½ cups sugar
and the eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape
dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon and roll balls in mixture. Place 2
inches apart on ungreased baking sheet pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until
set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.

Makes 3 dozen.
