Southern Hot chocolate


2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened vegan chocolate

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup light molasses

1 quart soy milk or nut milk

1/8 teaspoon salt

Place chocolate in a 2-quart casserole.
Microwave at MEDIUM 3 to 4 minutes.
Stir in sugar to make a paste.
Add water, molasses, milk, and salt.
Stir to blend well.
Microwave at HIGH 6 to 7 minutes or until bubbly hot, but not boiling.
Stir well at 2 minutes intervals.
Pour into mugs and serve hot

Wowee, sounds nice - vegan aswell. Impressive!

Refrigerate for about an hour. Meanwhile, heat milk to a simmer, them mix in chocolate. Whisk until chocolate is melted and smooth. Add mint extract and stir through.

What is Vegan Chocolate? All Chocolate to my knowledge is a vegitable or fruit, not emat.

A true vegan chocolate will have no dairy products. If milk or milkfat is added it is not vegan.


* 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 4 cups milk
* 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
* miniature marshmallows

Blend cocoa and sugar in a small bowl. In a medium saucepan, heat milk to scalding. Mix about 1/3 cup of the hot milk into the cocoa-sugar mixture, then pour cocoa mixture into hot milk in the saucepan; stir until well blended. Stir in vanilla. Serve with mini marshmallows. Serves 4.
