Stop Eggs from Seperating in my Eggnog?

Hey folks, I got a recipe for an easy Eggnog off of a website and tried it and am having an issue with the liquid separating with a foam type substance at top and liquid at the bottom. Regardless of how much I shake it or mix it, it never goes anyway.

The exact recipe is as follows:

* 2 eggs, beaten well
* 3 tbs sugar
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1/8 tsp nutmeg, ground
* 2 1/3 cups milk 

I modified it as follows:

* 2 eggs, beaten well
* 3 tbs vanilla flavored corn syrup (didn't have any sugar)
* 1/4 tsp cinnamon
* 1/8 tsp nutmeg, ground
* 2 cups milk
* 1/3 cup whiskey

I blended the eggs with the whiskey for about a minute in order to minimize any bacteria (would this work anyway?) and then added my other ingriedients. I’m new to this, any ideas what might be causing this or any other way to stop them from separating?

Also, I misspelled a word in my title, is there anyway to go back and edit the title so that others with the same question can find this thread?
