Sunday Sausage Breakfast

1 pound bulk sausage
1 pkg. (6 oz.) onion and garlic croutons
2 cups cubed mild cheddar cheese
2 cups cubed Monterey Jack cheese
1 dozen eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain well on paper towels. In a greased 13 inch x 9 inch x 2 inch baking dish, layer the croutons, sausage and cheese in that order. Combine eggs and milk; mix well. Pour over cheese and sprinkle with basil, salt and pepper. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is LIGHTLY browned and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean…serve immediately
