Zesty Taco Salad

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 pkg. Taco seasoning
1 cup water
1 bag tortilla or nacho chips
1 head iceberg lettuce
3 medium tomatoes
1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
French or California salad dressing

Brown ground beef and drain.
Mix in taco seasoning and water and simmer for 10-12 minutes
Wash lettuce and cut into bite size pieces
Cut tomatoes into bite size pieces
Break chips into bite size pieces
Place ground beef, chips, lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar cheese into serving bowl
Add dressing to taste and toss.

Hot day – Cold Salad…YUM!!

My taco salad is very similar, but I add chopped green olives with pimiento.

I like to add light red kidney beans heated with the meat and topped with ranch dressing, picante sauce, red onions, and a fresh sliced avocado.

Instead of using chips, I sometimes make bowls out of flour tortillas. I shape them with foil and use toothpicks then bake them until brown
