Texas Land And Cattle Steak House Texas Bread Pudding

2 pounds. Texas-style bread
7 cup milk
1 cup beaten eggs/liquid eggs
4 cup granulated sugar
1 (no. 10 can, 12-13 cups) peach pie filling
2 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Set the fan speed to high. Brush the bottom
of a large baking pan with butter fry (or butter flavored shortening).

Cut each slice of bread in half and then cut each half in thirds. Place the
bread in a large mixing bowl. Pour the milk over the bread and let it soak
for 10 minutes.

Beat eggs in another mixing bowl. Add sugar, peaches (including juice) and
vanilla and mix well. Fold the peach and bread mixtures together.

Slowly pour the mixture into the prepared pan.

Bake for 45 minutes. Use a paring knife to check for doneness. The knife
should insert easily and come out clean. If the pudding is not done,
continue to cook and check in 5-minute intervals. Allow the bread pudding to
cool to room temperature.

Ladle Jack Daniels Sauce (See recipe below.) over the bread pudding and
serve.

JACK DANIELS SAUCE

2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2/3 cup water
1 lb. butter
2 tsp. cinnamon 1
1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. vanilla
9 tbsp. Jack Daniels (green)

Pour the sugar and water into a 5-quart pot and mix well. Heat to a boil and
then simmer until clear (sugar should be dissolved). Add butter, cinnamon
and lemon juice. Stir until the butter melts. Remove from the heat and add
the vanilla and the Jack Daniels; mix well.
