Tijuana Tidbits
4 c. tortilla chips
3 c. Crispix cereal
1 bag microwave popcorn
1 12 oz. can mixed nuts
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 T. chili powder
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Heat oven to 250°. Pop popcorn to 8-9 cups. Combine tortilla chips, cereal, popcorn, and nuts into a roast pan. In a sauce pan, combine corn syrup, butter, brown sugar, chili powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Heat until boiling, and then pour over cereal mixture in pan, stirring to coat. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Remove from oven and turn onto sheets of wax paper to cool (sticky while hot). Makes 18 cups.
