1 cup bread crumbs, toasted
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup oatmeal, uncooked
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
Mix together all ingredients except soup and water. Form into walnut-size balls. Deep fry in oil until golden. Place in 9 x 13-inch greased casserole dish.
Mix soup and water; pour over meatballs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1/2 hour.
Can be served over rice or noodles or alone.
Add cut green beans to casserole and top with canned French fried onions before baking. YUM!!!
Omit sage, soup and water. Add 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning and serve with your favorite Italian sauce (red, white) and serve over spaghetti noodles. Squisito!
