Waffle Iron Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
4 oz (4 squares) baking chocolate
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Frosting:
1 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cocoa
3 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. butter
1/4 cup milk
dash salt
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Melt together the butter and baking chocolate.
Blend in the sugar, flour, vanilla and eggs till smooth.
Cook this batter in a waffle iron.

Frosting: Mix together the brown sugar, cocoa, shortening, butter, milk, and salt and boil for one minute.
Add 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar and quickly spread onto the cookies.

Sounds decadent! If I just call them chocolate waffles do you think I can get away with serving these for breakfast?

I haven’t made these yet, but they look really good. You can actually use any cake or muffin batter in a waffle iron.
