Walnut Stuffing

Walnut Stuffing

(10 cups)

1/4 lb butter
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped celery
8 cups of 1/2-inch cubes of soft bread
1/2 cup diced cooked turkey liver
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 tsp sage
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup water (optional)
1/2 cup brandy (optional)

Melt butter in large skillet. Add onions and celery and saute for 15 minutes.

Combine bread cubes, liver, walnuts and seasoning. Add to onion-celery mixture. This gives a dry stuffing. For a moist stuffing, add the water and brandy.
