welcome Spring with new cocktail recipes

It’s time to welcome spring with a variety of cocktails. Margaritas are always a welcomed addition to the spring cocktail menu, such as this Peach Margarita. Your own Margarita recipe could win you an Apple iPad in Hiram Walker’s “Margarita Madness” contest, accepting entries through May 5.

Peach Margarita
1½ parts Premium Tequila
1 part Hiram Walker® Peach Schnapps
¼ part Hiram Walker® Triple Sec
½ part Lime Juice
Shake or blend with ice into salt-rimmed margarita glass.

If you’re looking for a spring drink to share with a group, look no further than the Sandeman Rosehip Sangria.

Sandeman Rosehip Sangria
1 bottle of Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto
18 oz rosehip tea
16 oz ginger ale
15 cherries halved
Rose petals (optional)
Slice cherries in half and set aside. Brew rosehip tea. Mix Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto, rosehip tea and ginger ale in pitcher. Add cherries and let sit for about 8-12 hours (or overnight). Add rose petals before serving for decoration.

Mango is another great seasonal flavor to incorporate into cocktails as we creep closer to summer. Here are two recipes that I am enjoying with unique uses for mango. Cheers!

Mango Tango
1½ parts Premium Tequila (such as Avion)
1 part Hiram Walker Mango Schnapps
½ part Hiram Walker Triple Sec
¾ part Pineapple Juice
Serve over ice in rocks glass.

ZEDonist
3 oz ZED Sparkling Moscato Rose
2-3 mango ice cubes
Fill a champagne flute with ZED and add mango ice cubes. To make mango ice cubes: Put mango juice or puree in mini ice cube tray and freeze.
