Wild Rice Pilaf with Sausage

1/2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage
1 (6-oz.) pkg. long grain and wild rice
1 (4.5 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained

Crumble sausage and brown, drain and set aside.

Meanwhile in a saucepan bring water (as directed on pkg.) to a boil. Add rice and stir in mushrooms and sausage. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Note: To dress this recipe up you can add bell pepper red and green, baby English peas, green sautéed onions and Italian seasoning. I really like it better with the additions it is much more tasty.

This is a very simple and quick recipe, ready in 30 minutes.
